Since 1918, La Mallorquina has upheld the spirit of traditional pastry making in Palma. Specialising in artisanal ensaïmadas, it boasts the Protected Geographical Indication (IGP) ‘Ensaïmada de Mallorca’. The bakery also makes empanadas, cocarrois, cocas and cakes using recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation, making it well-known across the island.
Located on the ground floor of the modernist Villa Juana building, La Mallorquina has been a leader in Mallorcan baking for over a century. Its artisanal ensaïmadas are made using traditional methods and protected under the official IGP label, guaranteeing their quality and authenticity. It offers classic, cabell d'àngel, pastry cream, chocolate, and sobrassada ensaïmadas, each reflecting the mastery of a bakery dedicated to keeping this iconic pastry alive.
As well as ensaïmadas, they also make cocas, cremadillos, crespells and a wide range of cakes and pastries that represent the rich variety of local baked goods. During more than a hundred years, La Mallorquina has passed through four generations of the Cirer family, who have stayed true to tradition without sacrificing innovative techniques. With three shops in Palma, this century-old bakery continues to attract both locals and visitors seeking the real taste of Mallorca.
