Forn Can Caragol

Forn Can Caragol, Where Bread Tastes Like History

In the heart of Sineu, Forn Can Caragol has been keeping traditional baking alive since 1929. With a wood-fired oven and family recipes, they make organic kamut, spelt, xeixa wheat and brown bread, as well as a wide range of pastries and typical Mallorcan products. Their hallmark: authenticity, flavour and local commitment.

Forn Can Caragol is one of the last active wood-fired bakeries in Mallorca. Founded in 1929 by Miquel Torelló, it passed through several generations before returning to the hands of the founding family in 2012. Today, Gabriel Alomar and his team continue to make artisanal bread, pastries and traditional sweet treats such as ensaïmadas, cocas and panades.

Especially popular is their range of organic bread with local kamut, xeixa, spelt and brown flour, baked in a wood-fired oven with an adobe floor and dome. The bakery also offers white flour (sopas) made with original machinery and keeps traditional bread alive. They’ve been certified as an organic bakery since 2018 and are part of the ‘Pa d'aquí, forn i tradició’ brand. They also accept special orders such as suckling pig and offer a home delivery service. A must on the island for those in search of tradition, local produce and authentic flavours.
