The Essence of Sencelles in Ca Sa Padrina’s Wine
Founded in 1999, Vinyes i Vins Ca Sa Padrina was created to revive the tradition of family winemaking in Sencelles, in the heart of Mallorca. Producing 40,000 bottles every year, they make wines that evoke the island’s flavour through local varieties such as Manto Negro and Prensal, using modern techniques that respect Mediterranean character.
At the very centre of Mallorca, Vinyes i Vins Ca Sa Padrina has breathed new life into winemaking in Sencelles. Inspired by the family legacy of making wine at ‘Grandma's house’, the facilities were revamped to produce balanced, high-quality wines, registered under the DO Binissalem label.
Its 12 hectares of vineyards, which rest on stony, clay-rich soils, are home to native varieties such as Manto Negro and Callet, the star ingredients of wines such as the red ‘Montnegre’. Mollet, a fresh white made from Prensal and Chardonnay, is part of a range renowned for its Mediterranean freshness and elegance.
Managed by Andreu and Guillem Suñer, the winery uses both traditional and modern techniques. They focus on sustainability and respect for the land, making their wines a tribute to Mallorca’s rich history and authentic flavours.
