Quesos Binibeca is a family business, where than five generations have dedicated themselves to the artisan production of cheeses and sausages on the Alcaiduset farm in Menorca. They make cow, goat and sheep cheeses in different varieties, and sausages (sobrassadas and butifarrones) using the island's traditional recipes. With nearly 200 hectares and their own livestock, Binibeca blends tradition with modern facilities to offer authentic, high-quality products.
Located on the Alcaiduset farm, a few kilometres from Maó/Mahón, Quesos Binibeca is one of the few Menorcan cheese factories that produces artisan cow, goat and sheep cheeses, as well as a variety of traditional sausages. The farm, with more than 200 hectares, has its own livestock: 120 cows, 250 goats and 100 sheep, which are free-range and under strict care, ensuring the quality of the raw ingredient.
Binibeca cheese follows a handmade process that has been passed down from generation to generation. From mild to mature cheese, each block is aged in line with traditional techniques, to offer mellow, creamy or intense flavours, whatever the customer prefers. They also produce special cheeses such as goat's cheese with wine or herbs from Menorca, where the local touch really stands out.
But traditional cheese-making is not the only wonderful thing about Binibeca. They also make artisan sausages, such as sobrassada, butifarrón and carnixua, using the recipes their ancestors used, cured in ideal conditions on the farm.
Through a completely artisan process, Binibeca prides itself on keeping Menorca's cuisine alive. In addition to dairy products and sausages, Binibeca offers free-range eggs, further demonstrating its commitment to animal welfare and quality products. You can find these products in the family's own shops: one on the farm itself and another in San Lluís. They can also be bought at local markets or national craft fairs.
