In Ferreries, Santa Cecilia combines traditional cheesemaking with sustainable and regenerative farming. Made using raw milk from the native Vermella Menorquina breed of cattle, their DOP Mahón-Menorca cheeses are exceptional thanks to their artisan process and commitment to biodiversity. They also produce organic sausages and honey, offering products that respect the environment and capture the real Menorca.
Binissuès is a place where the tradition, history and culture of Menorca meet. On this estate, visitors can watch a demo of DOP Mahón-Menorca cheese being made, moulded by hand using the same methods and tools used by farmers for over 100 years.
Binissuès also offers a complete experience for the whole family: explore the 19th-century manor house, the 18th-century country house and an Ethnological Museum with equipment, tools and vehicles that show what countryside life used to be like on the island. The Natural Science Museum completes the tour with an impressive collection of more than 8,000 species.
On Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, you can see an artisan cheesemaking demo, from milking to moulding with the traditional fogasser cloth. An authentic experience that connects you to the true essence of Menorca, its countryside and its cheesemaking legacy.
