Dalt Turó: Sustainable Winery in a Former Marés Stone Quarry
Dalt Turó arose from the passion of a family linked to the land since time immemorial. This winery, located in a restored Marés stone quarry, combines tradition, sustainability and responsible winegrowing to create high quality wines. Its vineyards are rooted in soil steeped in geological history, in which native and foreign varieties are grown, creating a perfect setting for the production of its distinguished wines.
More than just a winery, Dalt Turó is the culmination of generations dedicated to the land. In an old Marés stone quarry, surrounded by vineyards and forest, this Mallorcan winery has found its home. Here, a commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment are essential.
The ground, composed of ancient dune systems, provides a unique foundation for growing varieties such as Callet, Mantonegro and Cabernet Sauvignon. This terrain, known for its ‘call vermell’, gives a richness to the soil that, in conjunction with advanced agricultural knowledge, leads to high quality wines. The winery takes advantage of the quarry structure to maintain optimal temperature and space conditions.
The wines are fermented and aged at the facility in stainless steel, cement and French oak tanks, thus reflecting the craftsmanship and creativity of those who work at Dalt Turó. Their labels are a tribute to the quarry workers of old, celebrating tradition and effort, as values that persist in every bottle produced under the ‘Vi de la Terra Mallorca’ label.
