Son Sureda Ric

History, Nature and Exceptional Wine at Son Sureda Ric

Nestled in eastern Mallorca, Son Sureda Ric brings centuries of history into the production of organic signature wines. It has 40 hectares of fields, with just 3 hectares dedicated to vineyards, producing singular red wines under the Vi de la Terra Illes Balears label. The winery, housed in 18th-century buildings, still uses artisan techniques, honouring tradition and respect for nature.

Son Sureda Ric stands as a historical and natural haven in the heart of Manacor. Its origins date back to the 13th century, when the estate was donated by King Jaime I. Its winery, dating back to the 18th century, is still at the heart of the small production of organic red wines from varieties such as Callet, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The winery’s philosophy is like that of a great French chateau; it oversees every stage of the process, from hand harvest to bottling, at its original facilities. Spontaneous fermentation, thanks to the natural yeasts on the walls, add an authentic feel to these wines that age in an environment with rare humidity and temperature conditions. More than just a winery, Son Sureda Ric is a haven for biodiversity and tradition.

Here, respect for the land and history meets the love of wine, making every visit an experience that connects the past and present in a prime setting on the east coast of Mallorca.
