Béns d'Avall: Dining in Perfect Harmony with Nature

Just a few metres from the Mediterranean, at the foot of the Tramuntana mountain range, since 1971 Béns d’Avall has been a sanctuary where you can get lost in unique cuisine based on creativity and Mallorcan roots. With a Michelin Star and two Repsol Suns, this restaurant, run by Benet and Jaume Vicens, offers a dining experience based on local, sustainable produce, much of which is sourced from their own gardens and olive groves. The restaurant’s outdoor terrace, which sits on a clifftop, offers spectacular views, especially at sunset.

At Béns d'Avall restaurant, nestled in an idyllic corner of Mallorca’s north coast between Sóller and Deià, diners can enjoy a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Since opening in 1971, the restaurant has been run by two generations of the Vicens family, by Benet and his son Jaume at the head, who have mastered the fusion between traditional Mallorcan cuisine and contemporary creative techniques. This effort has led to the award of a Michelin Star and two Repsol Suns.

Béns d'Avall’s kitchen stands out for its commitment to sustainability and local produce. With ingredients sourced from their own garden in Sóller and olive grove in Fornalutx, Benet and Jaume Vicens offer a tasting menu that changes with each season of the year, reflecting the authentic flavours of Balearic cuisine. Dishes such as Tramuntana lamb served in two different textures, or Mallorcan black pork pâté with black chanterelle mushrooms, demonstrate the team's ability to reinterpret tradition with modern techniques and finesse.

The restaurant’s outdoor terrace, which sits on a clifftop, offers stunning views of the Mediterranean and coastline, making it a magical place to enjoy a meal while watching the sunset. Catalina Cifre, Benet’s wife, runs front of house while their son Jaume brings a fresh touch and new ideas to the stove, thus achieving a dining experience that combines history, flavour and sustainability.

Béns d'Avall is more than just a restaurant; it’s a tribute to Mallorcan tradition and nature. Every detail, from the sourcing of ingredients to the preparation of each dish, is carefully thought out to give diners the chance to soak up the essence of Mallorca. Their approach has been awarded a Michelin Green Star for their dedication to sustainability and respect for the natural environment of the Tramuntana mountains.
