A Regenerative Farm by the Sea
On Santo Domingo farm in Sant Lluís, the second generation of the family has revolutionised the way vegetables are grown in Menorca: regenerative farming, terraced plots on compost and local varieties, with all produce available to buy directly or through home delivery. A model that takes care of the land and supports healthy eating.
Santo Domingo SC is a family farm located in Punta Prima, Menorca. Since 2014, the Riudavets family has been growing organic fruit and vegetables using local varieties, and since 2022 they’ve been using a regenerative farming system on permanent terraced plots, with drip irrigation and their own compost. This method, the first of its kind on the island, improves yields and respects soil biodiversity.
Sergi Riudavets leads the project with passion and ongoing training. Their plots grow a range of produce including rocket, kale, carrots, pak choi and microgreens in compostable bags. Their commitment to the environment is also reflected in their membership in the GOB Menorca Farming Stewardship programme.
Santo Domingo sells directly on the farm, delivers organic hampers to homes and collaborates with leading shops and restaurants in Menorca. They also offer courses on regenerative farming to spread awareness of the model and promote the future of agriculture.
