Es Viver: Menorcan Plants for Soulful Gardens
Es Viver is an organic plant nursery that promotes environmentally friendly gardening, managed by the Menorca branch of the Balearic Ornithology and Nature Conservation Group (GOB). They offer native plants for gardens, vegetable plots and natural wastewater treatment systems, as well as green space design, maintenance and regeneration services. They’re open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 1pm.
In Ciutadella, Es Viver offers a different way of using the landscape: with easy-to-maintain sustainable gardens that have no environmental impact. Their production of wild plants and traditional species from Menorca is certified organic. They also offer fruit trees alongside aromatic, horticultural and aquatic plants for domestic wastewater treatment systems.
The team advises people on starting gardens adapted to the local climate, without the need for chemicals or intensive irrigation. They also design and install green filters: vegetated areas that treat wastewater to be used in irrigation. A pioneering business that combines environmental education, biodiversity and regenerative solutions in times of water scarcity.
