Gin Xoriguer: Over 300 Years of History
Since the 18th century, Gin Xoriguer has kept the essence of Menorca alive. Made with juniper from the Pyrenees, natural well water from Mahón and a meticulous artisanal process in copper stills, this gin is certified under the ‘IPG Gin de Mahón’ label. Its unique flavour, ties to popular festivals and roots in Menorcan culture make it an icon of the Mediterranean.
Gin Xoriguer is the living testimony of a tradition that began when the British landed in Menorca in the 18th century. Since then, this distillate spirit has been made using the ‘one-shot method’, using firewood from local forests and a slow distillation process that guarantees its quality and authenticity. Its iconic green bottle with a handle is a nod to the old containers used to transport spirits in bulk, while the mill on its label represents the milling origins of the founding family. Its flavour is unmistakable: notes of juniper, green wood and citrus blend to create a herbal and spicy palate with a lingering finish. With more than half a million bottles sold a year worldwide, Gin Xoriguer remains true to its legacy.
