Mel Salewski is a family beekeeping business that produces honey under the Protected Designation of Origin ‘DOP Mel d'Eivissa’. Its hives are located on organic farms and forests in the north of the island, supporting biodiversity conservation and advocating for the Ibizan bee. As well as producing honey of exceptional quality, they organise guided tours to explain the world of bees and taste their honey in a unique natural environment.
Since 1925, Mel Salewski has been producing honey of exceptional quality in Ibiza, using traditional methods that respect the product’s natural essence. The label DOP Mel d'Eivissa certifies its origin and guarantees a natural, additive-free honey, harvested in environments with an abundance of flowers. Its hives are located in ecological areas, where bees pollinate plant species such as rosemary, heather and thyme, bringing unique nuances to each harvest.
Extraction and packaging takes place without pasteurisation to preserve all its properties. As well as producing honey, Mel Salewski organises tours of its beehives, where guests can learn about beekeeping and taste different varieties of honey served with other local products. This experience allows you to discover just how important bees are for the ecosystem and to enjoy a time-honoured traditional food product in Ibiza.
