Among Vineyards and Tradition: Artisanal Wine from Campos
In Pla de Mallorca, the winery Es Gallicant makes wine overflowing with history and character. This small family winery in Campos produces whites, reds, rosés and sparkling wines, with a focus on using local varieties. Each harvest is a celebration among friends, on an estate where traditional know-how goes hand in hand with respect for the land.
Es Gallicant emerged from a history of heritage and passion. The estate, located on red soil in Campos, was converted from a family dairy into an artisan winery under the ‘DOP Pla i Llevant’ label. Today they produce wines such as Rosella, Terra Rotja and the unique Giro Ros, a native variety that had almost disappeared.
Harvesting is done by hand, sheep fertilise the land in winter and each bottle is the result of family efforts. From their sparkling rosé to their white Flor de Taparera, each label captures the landscape and the soul of the surroundings. The estate is moving towards organic certification as it expands its vineyards and continues to focus on quality, authentic local production. The doors of the winery are open to anyone who wants to learn about the winemaking process. Wine here is understood as a bottled tribute to a fertile, resilient land.
