The Spirit of Eivissa in Can Maymó’s Wine
In northern Ibiza, Can Maymó combines tradition and innovation to produce wines under the Vi de la Terra Eivissa label. Using varieties such as Monastrell and Malvasia, their reds, whites and rosés reflect the Mediterranean character and passion for the craft. A family venture that honours the island's rich winemaking heritage.
Founded in 1995, Can Maymó is a family winery in Sant Mateu d'Aubarca, in the north of Ibiza. With vineyards on clay-rich and chalky soils, it grows native varieties, such as Monastrell and Malvasia, together with other international varieties like Merlot and Syrah. This leads to fresh, balanced wines with a notable expression of Ibiza’s terroir.
One of its finest labels is ‘Tinto Tradición’, which contains frigola, a fragrant thyme typical of the island, creating a unique wine. Another outstanding wine is ‘Grec’, made from Malvasia: a bright, fresh white that goes perfectly with local fish and seafood.
The winery offers guided tours from May to October, where visitors can wander the vineyards and enjoy tastings paired with local products. At Can Maymó, hand-harvesting and respect for the environment ensure that each bottle is an authentic expression of Ibiza and its winemaking tradition.
