Son Jover, A Cheesemaking Tradition with an Organic Seal

On the slopes of Puig de Santa Magdalena, the Seguí-Villalonga family makes organic cheeses using raw milk from Mallorcan red sheep and Malaga goats. A farm with history, committed to the environment and the taste of the countryside.

Son Jover artisanal cheese factory is located on a 960-hectare family farm in Inca, which has been going for four generations. Today, led by Margalida Seguí and her siblings, they produce organic cheese, cottage cheese and yoghurt, using 100% milk from their own cattle. They have 500 red Mallorcan sheep, 400 white sheep and 100 Malaga goats, all grazing freely outdoors.

One of the house favourites is the mature Mallorcan red sheep’s cheese, awarded the bronze medal at the World Cheese Awards. They also make fresh, medium mature, natural rind and Gran Reserva cheeses, as well as yoghurt, kefir and seasonal products such as milk, Ramellet tomatoes and melons.

Son Jover is committed to selling directly on the farm, at organic markets and in specialist shops. They offer guided tours with tastings, so you can learn about their artisanal process and the importance of protecting native breeds. An experience that connects customers to the source of the real taste of Mallorca.
