On Sa Teulera farm in Petra, a family has made organic farming their livelihood. Since 1989 they’ve been growing vegetables, baking bread with ancient wheat, making yoghurt with milk from their own cows, and producing sausages, jams and honey following a sustainable, self-sufficient, regenerative model.
The history of Sa Teulera begins with Joan Adrover and his commitment to farming that nourishes and takes care of health. What started as a small vegetable plot has grown into a ten-hectare living farm with crop rotation, grazing animals and biodiversity. Local varieties of fruit and vegetables grow there, while cows, pigs and chickens add to the natural cycle.
Organic cheese and yoghurt are made from the daily milk; breads, cakes and biscuits made with xeixa wheat and blat mort come out fresh from the wood-fired oven. They also make sobrassada, jam and preserves with their own raw ingredients. Beyond the farm, they have shops in Petra, Manacor and Palma, where they sell everything they produce directly. Sa Teulera is a clear example of coherence: a system where every part connects to nourish the land, the table and the future.
