S'Hort de Can Jaume: The Green Heritage of Algaida
For over three decades, Margalida Munar has been growing fruit and vegetables in Algaida, channelling the passion her parents had when they started the farm. At S'Hort de Can Jaume, daily work is governed by the land, the farming calendar and respect for the local environment. Everything is grown with great care, free of chemicals, and delivered straight from farm to table.
Margalida Munar is known for her love of the land and the shades of green that dominate her crops: spinach, cabbage, parsley, peas, lettuce... She’s also known as an advocate of direct selling, with no go-betweens. At S'Hort de Can Jaume everything is seasonal and always been, and only sticks to nature’s calendar.
Years ago, she ditched her office job to take up farming full time, continuing her family’s legacy on a small plot of land of around 7 hectares surrounding Algaida. Today, together with her husband, she invites customers to walk among the crops to see where the produce they take home comes from. A simple gesture that speaks volumes: here, authenticity grows with pride.
