Since 1915, the Mercadal family in Menorca has kept the tradition of making DOP Mahón-Menorca cheeses alive. With generations dedicated to the trade, Dalrit is known for its passion, respect and commitment to quality. Its variety of cheeses ranges from mild to extra mature, all aged in natural cheese caves, reflecting the island’s true nature and authentic flavours.
Dalrit is known for its traditional cheesemaking and long history in Menorca. Founded by Pedro Florit Camps and taken over by the Mercadal family in 1940, this cheese factory has evolved over more than 90 years, combining modern techniques with respect for traditional methods.
Specialising in DOP Mahón-Menorca cheeses, Dalrit offers the varieties of tierno (mild), semicurado (medium mature), curado (mature) and añejo (extra mature), made using both pasteurised and raw milk. These artisan cheeses are matured in natural cheese caves, achieving unique flavours that truly represent Menorca, with hints of nuts, leather and a spicy touch in the curado varieties.
Dalrit has also been recognised for its commitment to quality, winning national and international awards. Its legacy, closely tied to the landscape and culture of Menorca, makes it a must for cheese lovers seeking authenticity and excellence in every mouthful.
