Explore the natural and cultural values of the Serra de Tramuntana through a guided tour of the Raixa estate
The public estate of Raixa offers an educational and cultural experience to understand the spaces of this emblematic Mallorcan possessió. It is also home to the Serra de Tramuntana Centre. The guided visit explores the most emblematic areas of the estate and its gardens, as well as the exhibition spaces of the Serra de Tramuntana Centre, explaining the relationship between nature, history and human activity. An educational proposal that allows visitors to discover the values that make the Serra de Tramuntana unique, and the Raixa estate in particular.
The Raixa estate is located in the municipality of Bunyola. The surrounding gardens, its monumental staircase, the large pond and the panoramic views it offers visitors make it an unmissable stop. Raixa is particularly famous for the gardens that surround the house and extend along the slope of Sa Muntanyeta. In the lower area are the orchard, the Garden of the Orange Trees, the gallery garden, the central fountain and the entrance garden with a small pond. Raixa is part of the European Route of Historic Gardens. The guided visit is an interpretative experience that brings visitors closer to one of Mallorca’s most representative landscapes. Through different exhibition rooms and audiovisual resources, the geological formation of the mountain range, its biodiversity, and the mark left by agriculture and traditional architecture on the territory are explained. The tour enables visitors to understand the balance between nature and human activity that has shaped this UNESCO-recognised environment. The experience takes place in a historic setting that enhances the cultural value of the site, offering a complete view of the natural and cultural heritage of the Serra de Tramuntana.
