One of the most important sweets is the ensaimada menorquina, a famous Balearic delicacy known for its unique flavour and texture. Other typical desserts include carquinyols, little delights made of ground almonds, and crespells, star-shaped biscuits flavoured with lemon and sprinkled with icing sugar. You can try the pastissets, shaped like flowers with five or six petals, and the bitter ones, with a distinctive hint of bitter almond.
