Torralba’s Revival in Menorcan Wine
On the reclaimed land of Ciutadella, Torralba Agrícola is an up-and-coming winery offering a new take on winegrowing in Menorca. With 23 hectares of rain-fed vineyards, this winery pursues an ethos of thoughtful viticulture while maintaining the essence of the island. Its ‘Alba Rosé’ and ‘Alba Negra’ wines capture Menorca in a bottle, reflecting a deep connection with their natural environment.
Torralba Agrícola is more than just a winery; it is a tribute to the land and the past. Since 2016, it has worked the land to transform the marès sandstone soil with the aim of recovering nutrients and revitalising forgotten landscapes. The estate grows varieties such as Malvasia, Monastrell and Garnacha, which are rain-fed to maintain balance with the environment.
Dry stone walls and ground cover surround a vineyard that breathes sustainability. Here, sheep graze, bees pollinate and the weather dictates the rhythm. The essence of Menorca comes through in every bottle of ‘Alba’, offering a pure, authentic taste of the island in wines under the Vi de la Terra Illa de Menorca label.
