Since 2003, Sa Forana has been making wine in Sant Climent, Menorca, combining traditional artisan methods with an eco-friendly approach. With varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay, they capture the minerality of the chalky soil and the influence of the sea. Its small production of just 20,000 bottles is proof of its commitment to quality and upholding Menorca’s identity.
In the southeast of Menorca, Sa Forana embodies the connection between landscape and wine. Its vineyards on chalky soil grow grapes that are picked when perfectly ripe, used to make two different ranges: ‘600 Metros’, with fresh young wines, and ‘Sa Forana’, with more complex, well-structured crianza wines.
The winery is renowned for its careful technique. Varieties are separated for fermentation and French barrels are used, adding a singular identity and elegance. Its wines, such as its ‘Sa Forana’ crianza red and its mineral white wine, relay the stony soil, wind and sea of Menorca.
Sa Forana is the result of a venture by the Solano family, with roots in Menorca since the seventies. A winery that embodies the island’s rich winemaking tradition and culture, boasting the Vi de la Terra Illa de Menorca label.
