Mercat de Santanyí: The Flavours and Colours of Southern Mallorca
Mercat de Santanyí, held on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9am to 2pm, is one of the most popular markets in Mallorca. Located in the old centre of the town, it brings together more than 150 stalls offering fresh fruit and vegetables, cured sausages, cheese, wine, pottery, clothing and craft products. Its special charm, define by cobbled streets and stone buildings, makes it a must on your itinerary.
Located in Plaça Major square and nearby streets, Mercat de Santanyí is one of the island’s best markets. Here you can find local produce such as sobrassada, oil and wine, as well as Mallorcan craft pottery, llengües fabric and decorative items made from the famous Santanyí stone.
The market offers an experience that goes beyond shopping: its outdoor bars and cafés invite you to enjoy breakfast while taking in the vibrant atmosphere. The town is also an ideal starting point for visiting nearby spots such as Cala Santanyí, Cala Llombards or Mondragó Natural Park.
