Vinya Sa Cudia: White Wines from the North Coast of Menorca
In the heart of S'Albufera des Grau Nature Park, Vinya Sa Cudia makes premium white wine, making use of the slate soils and winds from the Tramuntana mountains. With a small production of 12,000 bottles a year, this Menorcan winery is distinguished by its focus on the Malvasia variety, echoing the Mediterranean countryside. Eco-friendly estate wines with character.
Vinya Sa Cudia, located in Menorca’s Biosphere Reserve, is more than just a winery. Across its seven hectares of rain-fed vineyards, the Malvasia variety confronts harsh slate soil and relentless winds to create intensely aromatic, fresh, well-structured wines.
The Martínez Jover family started this venture in 1999, turning their traditional estate into an organic wine farm. Their commitment to terroir has given life to two ranges: ‘Favaritx’, fermented in stainless steel, and the barrel-aged ‘Sa Cudia’.
These small production wines not only reflect the Malvasia variety, but also the resilient spirit of an island carved by the sea, stone and wind.
