Son Vell is the Sureda family’s wine business in Manacor. Father and son work 10 hectares of vineyards with no chemicals, harvesting by hand and fermenting with native yeasts. They make organic wines that respect the land, such as Son Vell Corrent and Son Vell 2018, devoted to local varieties and the character of the Mallorcan landscape.
In the heart of the winegrowing region between Manacor and Felanitx, Son Vell grows Callet, Fogoneu and other organic grape varieties, surrounded by fruit trees, sheep and grapevines in a balanced environment. Their focus is clear: minimal intervention and maximum expression of the environment. The grapes are harvested by hand into small crates and fermented without additive. The wine is then aged in used French oak barrels. No filtering or refining takes place. The result: vibrant, flavoursome wines with an island touch.
Son Vell Corrent, their young wine, and Son Vell 2018, their aged wine, represent the character of an estate that preserves family tradition through a contemporary approach. Notes of woodland, fruit and Mallorcan soil. Here, every glass tells the story of a vineyard that’s been nurtured for generations. Pure heritage in a bottle.
