Embotits Ferriol

From Sineu to the World: Embotits Ferriol and its Certified ‘IGP Sobrassada de Mallorca’

Since 1954, Embotits Ferriol has been making traditional sobrassada sausages in Sineu, a prime location for curing thanks to the inland climate. Under the Protected Geographical Indication (IGP) Sobrassada de Mallorca, the company respects the traditional recipe that combines specially selected pork, local paprika and slow curing. The company also makes traditional sausages such as botifarró and camaiot, reflecting great respect for Mallorcan food.

At Embotits Ferriol, sobrassada is the leading product. It’s made using traditional methods that go back generations, with varieties such as the renowned Sobrassada de Mallorca de Porc Negre, specially made using black pork from native pigs reared on the island.

Beyond its certified sobrassada, Embotits Ferriol offers other sausages deeply rooted in Mallorcan culture, such as botifarró, a spicy sausage that can be eaten raw or grilled, and camaiot, a product cured for more than two months, upholding an age-old preservation technique.

Visitors can buy sausages and learn about their production process at the factory, and taste products in a setting steeped in history and authenticity. With a firm commitment to quality and tradition, Embotits Ferriol continues to be a leader in the production of Mallorcan sausages.
