Son Ravanell, The Flavour of a Family Farm
Son Ravanell is much more than just an organic consumer group in Mallorca. On their farms in Manacor, they grow vegetables, fruit and legumes using methods that take care of the land. No go-betweens, no rush, just a clear commitment: to offer fresh, healthy, seasonal produce, connecting town and country with coherence and closeness.
Petra, Joan and Jordi grow produce with a broad outlook. They do it at Sa Vall, Son Gener and Son Ravanell, three certified farms where each seed, variety and harvest are planned according to acro-ecological principles. They live off the land and respect it, which is why their produce arrives fresh at Palma’s organic market twice a week.
They’ve built a direct distribution network through consumer groups all over the island. Not only do they guarantee quality, they also stand for a fair economy for those who work the land. With more than thirty kinds of seasonal produce of their own, they’ve been dedicated to resisting without giving up. Son Ravanell represents a viable, necessary alternative: local farming, biodiversity in the gardens, real traceability and food with a backstory.
