Rancho Grande

Mallorcan Black Pork: A Livestock Farming Tradition and Free-Range Flavour

On the north coast of Mallorca, Rancho Grande has been combining sustainable livestock production with countryside tourism for more than 50 years. Across more than 180 hectares, they raise free-range Mallorcan black pigs and use the pork in authentic dishes, in a setting where nature, tradition and grill cooking come together.

Porcelleta Negra Mallorquina in Son Serra de Marina is a livestock farm that’s part of Rancho Grande, which raises black pigs extensively from birth. The piglets are born out in the open and free to roam the land, feeding on carob, figs, acorns, grass and fruits from the forest. More than 150 selected purebred sows graze on the farm, with guaranteed animal welfare and a quality product.

This production philosophy also applies in their restaurant, where black pork is grilled and served alongside other typical Mallorcan dishes. This all takes place in a rustic setting with views of the beach, among oak trees and free-roaming horses. The estate also offers horse riding, family trips, horse shows and activities for schoolchildren.

Rancho Grande not only offers countryside experiences: it’s also a producer committed to preserving Mallorcan black pork. Every visit helps to support sustainable livestock farming based on the land, time and respect for island tradition.
