In Puigpunyent, surrounded by mountains and old country estates, Quatre Quartons grows organic fruit and vegetables from a regenerative approach. Their work is based on respect for natural cycles and the power of microorganisms in the soil. A business that respects biodiversity and strongly advocates for food sovereignty.
Behind Quatre Quartons are Eva and Joan Ignasi, guardians of an organic farm certified by the Balearic Council for Organic Farming (CBPAE), where every plant is grown with care, expertise and commitment. In their fields, they grow tomatoes, onions and courgettes alongside more unusual crops like Korean white radish and perilla, used in dishes in restaurants across the island.
The farm’s name refers to an old Mallorcan unit of measurement in agriculture, and is also a metaphor for the balance they seek between production, landscape, tradition and future. Their connection to the land is what achieves great flavour, nutrient-rich soil and a local partnership network that nurtures individuals and communities alike. In every corner of the farm, biodiversity and sustainability are intertwined through an inspiring agro-ecological approach. Here, eating is a conscious act, rooted in the land and open to the world.
