Jaume Sureda Ferriol, A Life Dedicated to the Countryside
Jaume Sureda Ferriol is one of the few producers of organic chicken in Mallorca. His farm, run based on sustainability and a commitment to society, supplies high quality poultry meat to butchers and private customers. Certified by the Balearic Council for Organic Farming (CBPAE), he represents the soul of Mallorca’s countryside with an environmentally friendly model.
Foravila is his life. Jaume Sureda Ferriol is the last farmer in Mallorca dedicated to the organic production of poultry meat. On his farm, he grows almost 100% of the seeds and seedlings needed to feed his animals, promoting biodiversity, beneficial wildlife and pollinators. The whole process is circular: surplus plants are used to feed his free-range chickens.
Certified by the CBPAE, he distributes Mallorcan chicken and lamb to small shops, butchers and consumers, both through the ECOILLA cooperative and directly. He also promotes social inclusion and the role of women in rural areas. His work is a clear commitment to sustainability, food sovereignty and local trade.
