Over 125 Years of Farming at Sant Bartomeu Agricultural Cooperative in Sóller
Sant Bartomeu Agricultural Cooperative in Sóller, the oldest in Spain, has been committed to the landscape, local produce and sustainability since 1899. With more than 350 members, they produce extra virgin olive oil and sell citrus fruits, vegetables and organic products. Their shop is a staple in the Sóller valley.
In the heart of the Tramuntana Mountains, Sant Bartomeu Cooperative continues to promote local agriculture that protects the landscape and biodiversity. With a centenary olive-oil mill, they produce extra virgin olive oil and table olives. They are also part of the Protected Designation of Origin ‘DOP Oliva Mallorquina’ and sell citrus fruits under the brand name ‘Cítrics ses Marjades’.
The shop offers a selection of organic zero-mile products: jams, olive paste, fresh fruit and vegetables and homemade cured meat. They also manage a warehouse, a plant nursery, plant protection products and technical advice for farmers. With a history dating back over a century, the cooperative has successfully brought tradition and modernity together, as a key driver of the rural economy in Sóller. A way of marking territory through the countryside.
