A Living Farming Tradition in Porreres Since 1957
Since 1957, Sa Cooperativa Agrícola de Porreres has united farmers in the municipality around the production, marketing and promotion of local foodstuffs. Their shop offers everything from fruit and vegetables to seeds, sobrassada, wine and legumes in bulk. All with a firm commitment to seasonal produce and sustainability.
Sa Cooperativa de Porreres was created with the aim of supporting the Mallorcan countryside and continues to do so more than half a century later. Members of the co-op grow fruit and vegetables that supply the shop, which also sells organic wine, craft products, hardware and animal supplies. They pioneered the export of dried apricots, and now play an important role in the annual Albercoc festival.
Currently managed by Esperança Mora, the cooperative also offers technical and administrative advice to farmers. Their commitment to zero-mile food is reflected in every product, from xeixa bread to angel hair jam. A local favourite that keeps the flavour and farming landscape of Porreres alive. Their shop sells both traditional products and necessities: from local seeds to work shoes. A place to find products from the Mallorcan countryside and learn the stories behind them.
