In Escorca, surrounded by the Tramuntana mountains, Vinyes Mortitx combines tradition with mountain growing to create fresh, elegant wines. On 18 hectares of vineyards, this winery captures the singularity of a unique landscape, with a prime microclimate and diverse soils that add nuances and minerality to each bottle.
On the historic Mortitx estate, Vinyes Mortitx produces wine under the Vi de la Terra Mallorca label, surrounded by terracing (known locally as marjades) and the stunning Tramuntana mountains. Recognition through this label underlines its commitment to quality and authenticity, capturing the land’s character in each bottle. To ensure the grapes ripen evenly, the winery makes use of the cool microclimate and contrasting temperatures in the Tramuntana mountains.
Its chalky, clay-rich and volcanic soils, together with the sea breeze that blows through the Mortitx torrent, give exceptional minerality and freshness to leading wines such as Monjoia, Giró Ros and the sweet Dolç de Gel.
With an ethos of tradition and sustainability, Vinyes Mortitx uses craft techniques to infuse its wines with their environment. More than just a winery, it is a tribute to Mallorca’s natural surroundings and cultural legacy, with the Tramuntana mountains at its heart.
