Son Grau Gran: Vineyards at the Foot of the Twin Peaks of Alaró
In the iconic spot of Alaró in the Tramuntana mountains, Son Grau Gran creates wines under the Vi de la Terra Mallorca label. Its approach focuses on respect for the environment, with native varieties such as Gargollassa and Escursac. Amidst ancient olive trees and dry-stone terraces, its wines capture a unique terroir and an age-old winegrowing legacy.
Son Grau Gran, located at the foot of the Twin Peaks of Alaró, is a winery where Mallorcan tradition meets modern organic practices. With 51 hectares containing forests and vineyards, they grow low-yielding native varieties that truly reflect their surroundings. Its vineyards are managed through a minimal intervention approach, whereby sheep help with weed control and the Mediterranean climate provides the ideal balance.
Each wine, from the Gargollassa red to the direct-pressed rosé, offers a pure expression of terroir and dedicated craftsmanship. Made using painstaking techniques, such as hand harvesting and oak barrel ageing, Son Grau Gran wines excel for their freshness, elegance and ageing potential.
