In 1996, a German entrepreneur from Hamburg planted the first vineyard at Ca'n Vidalet with the goal of restoring Mallorca’s wine heritage. This winery, located in a prime setting, produces wines that rest in a stone cellar under a hill, making use of nature’s freshness. Beyond the wines it produces, Ca'n Vidalet stands out for its aguardientes (botanical spirits) and gin made with the finest botanicals and citrus fruits from the Tramuntana mountain range.
Ca'n Vidalet is home to over 10 hectares of vineyards, where both native and foreign varieties are grown. Production is organic, avoiding the use of synthetic products. It also follows the Royat Cordon pruning system.
The grapes, selected and harvested by hand, are fermented in stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels, guaranteeing the highest quality in each wine. White varieties include Prensal, Giró Ros and Chardonnay, while red varieties include Callet and Syrah.
The winery also produces spirits in its own still, using a selection of red and white grape pomace, as well as botanicals and citrus fruits from the region. This meticulous handcrafted approach is down to Ca'n Vidalet's commitment to quality and authenticity.
Visitors can delve into the world of wine through tastings and guided tours of the vineyards and winery. Each visit is a chance to discover the distinct nuances of its wines and spirits, providing an unforgettable food and wine experience in Mallorca. These wines bear the ‘Vi de la Terra Mallorca’ quality seal.
