Mercat d'Inca: Where Tradition Meets Quality
Mercat d'Inca is one of the biggest and most popular markets in Mallorca. Every Thursday, from 8am to 1:30pm, the city centre comes alive with hundreds of stalls selling fruit, vegetables, cured sausages, handicrafts, footwear and fabrics. There’s also the indoor market, open on Monday to Saturday from 8am to 2:30pm, offering a selection of fresh produce in the comfort of a modern, accessible space.
Inca’s weekly market, taking place every Thursday, is an essential stop in the centre of the island. Stretching along Gran Via de Colom, Plaça de Oriente and neighbouring streets, it has a wide variety of local products: seasonal fruit and vegetables, cheese, cured sausages, wine, footwear and handicrafts. It is especially popular during the tourist season, when it becomes one of the busiest markets in Mallorca.
This traditional outdoor market is located next to an indoor market, Mercat Cobert D’Inca, which opened in 2010. It’s open from Monday to Saturday. With a modern design, it houses butchers, bakeries, spice shops, dried fruit and nut shops and outdoor bars, and has an underground car park to make your visit easier.
Famous for its shoe industry and traditional restaurants known as cellers, Inca combines its rich trading history with a variety of local food available in the events and tastings that take place in its indoor market. Easily accessible by car or public transport, it is a must for those looking for quality, variety and tradition on the island.
