The Best Wine Pairing in Mallorca at the Fira del Vi i del Formatge
Every 1st May, Estellencs becomes the capital of wine and cheese as it hosts the Fira del Vi i del Formatge (Wine & Cheese Fair). This event brings together a wide selection of Mallorcan wines, especially wine made using Malvasia grapes, as well as artisan cheese and other local products such as jams, olives and cured sausages. Throughout the day, fair-goers can taste these products in a unique setting in the heart of the Tramuntana mountains, with activities for all the family, workshops and live music.
Since 2009, the Fira del Vi i del Formatge has grown to become one of the most important food fairs during springtime in Mallorca. Throughout the streets and squares of Estellencs, fair-goers can browse a wide range of stalls with wine from wineries on the island and artisan cheeses, and discover the perfect pairing between these two products.
As well as food, the fair offers a full calendar of activities with workshops, shows, concerts and a craft market. For children, there are games and educational activities, while wine lovers can enjoy tastings and talks on the production of Malvasia, one of the island’s most popular varieties.
With its blend of tradition, culture and great taste, the Fira del Vi i del Formatge has become a must for those looking to enjoy the best flavours of Mallorca in a cosy, festive atmosphere.
