A Journey Through the Flavours of Menorca at the Fira Arrels
Every year, the Recinte Firal des Mercadal hosts the Fira Arrels (literally ‘Roots Fair’), an event dedicated to Menorca's cuisine and local produce. For two days, fair-goers can enjoy food samples, live cooking demos, children’s workshops, wine tastings and a market with more than 30 stands. The fair is a hub for producers, artisans and chefs, becoming a top destination for discovering and tasting the essence of Menorca.
Since the market opened, the Fira Arrels has grown to become the most important food event in Menorca. In its exhibition space, you can find artisan products such as cheese, cured sausages, wine, oil and typical sweets from the island. There are also guided tastings and cooking demos by renowned local chefs and their guests.
The Aula de Cuina is one of the most exciting parts of the fair, where live demos of traditional and contemporary recipes are given, highlighting the richness of Menorcan recipes. The fair also has an area for family activities and a stage with live concerts, creating a festive atmosphere with food as the central focus.
With a commitment to quality and promoting local produce, the Fira Arrels has become a must for lovers of good food and Menorca’s culinary culture.
