Torre Trencadeta

The True Taste of Menorca at Torre Trencadeta

At Torre Trencadeta, Miquel Bosch and Coloma Marquès make cheeses under the DOP Mahón-Menorca label, using milk from Friesian cows and Menorcan sheep, a native breed recovered through their dedication to tradition. With five varieties, including semicurado and creamy artisan cheeses, this estate in Ciutadella offers an authentic experience of unmatched flavour.

Torre Trencadeta is a unique spot in Menorca where tradition and passion come together to create extraordinary cheeses. With milk from Friesian cows and Menorcan sheep, this artisan cheese factory produces five varieties of DOP Mahón-Menorca cheese, from the creamy ‘Madò Coloma’ to their semicurado (medium mature) and curado (mature) cheeses, all capturing the authentic flavours of the island.

Miquel Bosch and Coloma Marquè, who run this family estate, are known for their dedication and friendly approach. They have rescued the tradition of making cheese from the milk of an endangered sheep native to Menorca, producing pieces that celebrate Menorca's cheesemaking roots.

As well as its range of cheeses, Torre Trencadeta has expanded the factory and opened a shop for on-site sales, and offers guided tours for visitors to learn about the artisan process. Torre Trencadeta is a living testimony to Menorca's cheesemaking heritage, preserved with love and care.
